In 1972,he learned from his first Kungfu teacher master Yushan Wang who enjoyed great reputation around nation wide. He learned Taiji Mantis-style Boxing from master Wang in terms of the basic training, basic fistfightings, fistfighting forms and usage of weapons like the knife, stick , whip, scissors-shaped stick, etc. Touched by li ‘s intensive training and talent in Kungfu, Master Wang often taught li some special Kungfu which other student’s never learned.
In December, 1976, Wangyushan passed away and he continued to learn from Wang ‘s son Yuanqian Wang about Taiji mantis-style boxing, Digong (level 7), Bazhou (level 1―level 4) stick, knife sword, spear, shovel, Qigong.
By the end of 1979,he had learned Taiji mantis-style boxing completely and systematically, and master both the theory and practicing well. In 2002,his kungfu practicing was greatly bettered by following Xiushan Zhang’s training. During many years of learning kungfu,he has been honorably directed by those famous martial artist such as ,Yuanliang Wang, Xiushan Zhang, Bingdou Zhang and Baomin Liu.
Since the end of 1970s,he has been teaching and now his students are from all over the world. In 2004,he was invited to Mosco and Sankt Peterburg to teach Taiji mantis-style boxing., and visit the New Haven, Connecticut the U.S.A. for Sino-US kungfu communication in 2006.
Taiji Mantis-style Boxing is a China’s traditional fistfighting with more than 300 years’ history in record, which emphasizes on actual fighting. Being perfected by martial artists from the past to now, it has formed a pretty complete kungfu system. At present, it is warmly welcome by fans of kungfu all around the world.
